Texada Island's Jazz on the Rocks festival combines the talents of local and internationally renowned jazz musicians with the amazing acoustics of a stone amphitheatre. Steep limestone walls rise around a beautiful blue-green lake created by water accumulation in a historic quarry to create a visual and acoustical wonderland for the main venue.Jazz on the Rocks 2008

A full weekend of jazz awaits visitors to Texada Island, the jewel of Malaspina Strait. Start the weekend Friday evening with dinner and jazz at the beautiful Tree Frog Lodge and Bistro in Gillies Bay. Spend Saturday in Blubber Bay, first at the spectacular Heischolt Lake for a daylong extravaganza of jazz talents. Then move down to the park-like setting of “downtown” Blubber Bay for an evening of music and dancing at the Jazz Lover’s Lounge. Close out the weekend on Sunday, with the Blues Brunch at the Texada Island Inn.
